Graduate of the University of Wales and
prior to war was Science Master in the Grammar School, Larne. Was a
leading member of the Ulster Volunteers and enlisted in January 1915. He
joined the Ulster Division and obtained a commission in the 12th Bn, RIR.
He was killed in action while leading his company on the first day of
the Somme offensive, 1 July 1916. |
