This research is not meant to be a comprehensive or authoritative account of the LARNE URBAN DISTRICT'S contribution to World War One. Furthermore, it should be noted that the information herein can not be fully accurate. For example, the identification of a particular individual or his regiment is made difficult in some instances as spelling of the surname can vary or the newspaper reports and other records contained insufficient detail, errors and even contradictory information. Corrections are welcome, as well as additions. This research is not motivated by any religious or political reasons or ideology but purely to supply a new source of information concerning those that gave their lives in the Great War 1914-18 from the LARNE URBAN DISTRICT'S.
